IT Programme Manager

**Role purpose**:
This role will be responsible for ensuring that Group IT programmes are planned, coordinated, and communicated in a professional manner, keeping stakeholders regularly informed of progress, and ensuring that all stakeholder expectations are managed and that technology commitments are consistently met. The scope that this role will be responsible for extends across critical domains such as: App, Web, Retail, API platforms, Loyalty, Cloud and BSS Transformation and IT Modernisation Garage. This group role will drive critical programmes across all Vodacom Group operating companies, including partner markets
**Your responsibilities will include**:
**Strategy**:
Liaise and work with the various stakeholders and Business Unit Executive Heads to align the objectives/outcomes of assigned programme with the Business Units overall strategy and goals.
Work closely with Finops, Supply Chain, HR and Technology Functions to establish critical improvement/upgrade programmes, vendor rationalisation programmes and signature programmes
**Engagement & Project Planning**:
Drive programme priority, resourcing and structure across Group and impacted operating companies, working closely with lean portfolio management teams, operating company PMO teams.
Develop and optimize demand management, delivery processes with the respective lean portfolio management teams
Engage in new initiatives well in advance of formal kick off to ensure thorough capture of requirements and manage expectations through detailed stakeholder engagements
Prepare and deliver detailed programme plans to ensure accurate expectations are set and advise stakeholders of any critical project milestones.
Present, track and manage quarterly demand through Group and operating company Programme Increment events
**Programme Management**:
Provide professional end-to-end Programme Management
Lead virtual project teams (as the overall primary point of contact) throughout a Signature Programme lifecycle and ensure that all key milestones are met.
Ensure that programme delivery activities are coordinated between the external and internal groups.
Effectively manage programme budget, reconciling against approved funds, local board approvals, service agreements with operating companies and spend against group and operating company vendors
Ensure that a clean hand-over to the OpCo or Group functions is performed at the close of each programme
Communication & Stakeholder Management
Capture business priorities, critical information & agree programme plan.
Ensure that Go-To-Market, key migrations and platform go-lives are scheduled & facilitated with the commercial and technology leads.
Coordinate, host and attend virtual team meetings with impacted stakeholders, delivery teams and leads across markets
Proactively provide status update of progress reports, highlighting Risks, Actions, Issues &/or Dependencies (written & verbal as appropriate).
Provide programme dashboard reports to key internal & external stakeholders
**Must have technical / professional qualifications**:
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Project Management or related(essential)
Relevant Postgraduate (preferable)
**Core competencies, knowledge and experience**:
Project management and Project management processes such as Prince II, SAFE,
Financial knowledge
General Telecommunication knowledge
Contract Management
Program Management
New Product Development
Stakeholder and Relationship Management
Technical or commercial project management knowledge
A minimum of 10 years of extensive Programme Management skills and experience essential.
Successful track record of Pogramme/Project Managing complex inter-company initiatives.
System Management experience, both operational and upgrades.
A self-starter with a determination to succeed balanced with appropriate tact and diplomacy.
