**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**:
Processing and managing a large and complex payroll management function. Extensive and highly advanced payroll experience will be essential.

Accounting qualification / diploma / certificate

Advanced MS Excel

Relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous.

Payroll Software - **essential requirement**

Must have solid experience on **SAGE300.**

**EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS essential**:

- Minimum 10 years payroll / remuneration experience with a minimum of 5 years in management role managing a large and complex payroll system.
- Must have strong payroll management experience in both salaries and wages
- Must have extensive people management and leadership experience
- Extensive knowledge and experience on payroll systems / software
- Syspro knowledge would be advantageous
- Skilled and experienced in payroll legislation and payroll process improvements.
- Solid Employment Law knowledge (LRA, BCEA, OHSA, background of unions an added advantage and thorough understanding of union agreements in place essential).
- Solid knowledge of relevant Labour and Tax legislation and changes
- Payroll processes and systems full function with costing, recons, incentives, directives, commissions, bonuses and all other PAYE, TAX and legislation policies and procedures required.
- Accounting knowledge to handle Salary Clearing accounts.
- Strong 3rd party payment financial knowledge and recons
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines and report processing

**JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Salaries and Wages (accurate recordkeeping of monthly / weekly payrolls). Reconciling data to be processed for any discrepancies. Balancing information processed, before final payment of salaries is actioned. Exporting to bank files.
- Compiling monthly journals and reconcile the monthly allocated deductions and creditors after each pay run and notify relevant parties of any variances.
- Administer time and attendance systems
- Administrative procedure and documentation (contribute to the improvement of internal systems and procedures, payroll calendar management, proactively remind management of deadlines on a monthly basis, driving deadlines, prioritise, schedule own work, give input in scheduling payroll administrators' work, dealing with contingencies)
- Managing relationships (building and maintaining sustainable long-term relationship with management, prompting management for information, ensure that management are aware of potential risks and consequences of actions, respond to requests and queries from management)
- Reporting and submissions (Month-end reporting, IRP5 Submissions, Statutory Payments and Third-party payments, Report Writing, Payroll and pay slip queries, Submission of WCA and SARS reconciliations and submissions for financial year end and bi-annual (EMP501) using EasyFile, Medical Aid reconciliation and submission of Provident Fund documentation).
- General (ensuring that all creditor payments reconcile and have been released on/before the due date. Notifying payments administrator to release payments and following up. Assisting Payroll Administrators with queries. Ensuring that all payments were released successfully. Administration of employees IRP5/IT3 documents after EMP501 submissions. Income Tax Registrations administration. Determining payroll cut off and processing dates)
- Develop an oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of labour guidelines and internal policies.
