Inbound Supervisor

Role Outline

To plan, co-ordinate, manage and report upon the work activities of the team providing effective communication, leadership, motivation, training, and development. To direct, co-ordinate and plan the operation through effective scheduling of employees, planning of all functions, manage and control of employees. To optimize all resources to ensure that the operation is managed effectively and that customer service standards are achieved and maintained. Ensure that all contractual KPI targets are achieved and maintained in accordance with the Service Level Agreement. To work in conjunction with the Managers to monitor, develop and allocate work to a group of subordinates in specific areas.

Key areas of responsibility include:

1. Managing the operation
2. Promote a culture of safety and conduct regular safety training for the team
3. Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
4. Prepare and present regular reports on inbound activities, inventory levels, and performance metrics to management
5. Meet and exceed operational service levels and manage the cost of labour
6. Drive and develop team culture
7. Delivery of Key Performance Indicators
8. Quality Control
9. Compliance with statutory and Company Policies and Procedures
10. Compliance to Standard Operating Procedures
11. Active participation in stock counts i.e. Planning, Preparation and Physical counting of stock
12. Ensure daily and weekly workload planning and volume forecasting routines are accomplished
13. Effective Leadership and Management of the operational and administrative teams
14. Delivery of safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for Team Members
15. Maximize accuracy, productivity and space utilization
16. HR Issues - Managing Industrial Relations
17. Oversee the daily activities of the inbound team, ensuring efficient processing of incoming shipments.
18. Coordinate with logistics and transportation teams to schedule inbound deliveries and arrange for adhoc Crane when required
19. Maximize accuracy, productivity and space utilization
20. Oversee the Inspection of incoming goods for quality and accuracy against purchase orders
21. Translate, analyze and deliver customer needs through effective operations
22. Effective Leadership and Management of the operational and administrative teams

Qualifications/ Skills/Competencies/Experiences

1. Matric (Grade 12) Essential
2. Tertiary Qualification (Logistics/Business) Desirable
3. 3 year experience in a similar role and environment

English - verbal and written

At least 1 other language - Desirable
