Your Purpose:
As a 4x4 Rental Consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring customers receive expert advice, tailored recommendations, and a hassle-free rental experience. Your role is crucial in driving conversions, repeat business, and referrals by delivering outstanding service from enquiry to post-trip support.

Your Core Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales

  1. Respond promptly to rental enquiries across various platforms, ensuring a high conversion rate.
  2. Profile clients to recommend the most suitable vehicle based on their itinerary and needs.
  3. Provide detailed information on vehicle equipment, travel restrictions, and route planning.
  4. Follow up on enquiries, maintaining a minimum conversion rate of 30%.

Booking & Administration

  1. Accurately process reservations, ensuring all details align with quotations and system data.
  2. Manage special requests, including cross-border applications and ancillary product needs.
  3. Issue precise travel documentation, ensuring clients have all necessary information for a smooth rental experience.
  4. Assist clients with payment processing and alternative payment methods if required.
  5. Manage cancellations and refunds efficiently, communicating policies clearly.

Customer Support & Experience

  1. Provide concierge-level service throughout the booking process and trip duration.
  2. Guide clients on supplier operating hours to avoid travel disruptions.
  3. Handle complaints with urgency, ensuring amicable resolutions.
  4. Maintain an accurate enquiry dashboard for reporting and tracking.

Availability & Flexibility

  1. Participate in weekend and after-hours duty on a rotational basis.
  2. Assist with emergency calls when required.
  3. Support additional tasks and projects as needed.
  4. This is a fully office based position (Monday to Friday).

Who We're Looking For:

  1. Matric qualification (Tertiary qualification in travel/tourism is an advantage).
  2. 3-5 years of customer service experience with a strong sales focus (telesales or face-to-face).
  3. Experience in 4x4 and camper van rental sales is an added advantage.
  4. Strong knowledge of Africa and self-drive destinations.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Strong time management, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  7. Proficiency in MS Office/Google Workspace (Tourplan system knowledge is a plus).
  8. Must have a valid driver's license and own transport.
