Overseeing the health and well-being of the sanctuary animals.

Being part of veterinary related tasks such as procedures, medical check-ups, diagnostics.

Upkeeping of medical records.

Observational assessments of animals, adjustments to medication and care as per their needs, including husbandry aspects such as nutritional and environmental needs.

Contributing to preventative medicine protocols.

Contributing to safe transfer of animals.

Assisting in managing free roaming game.

Qualifications

Fully qualified veterinarian and registered with the South African Veterinary Council or eligible to do so.

Must be SA citizen.

Skills

At least 5 years experience in a small or mixed animal practice including wildlife or welfare setting.

Highly motivated animal welfare mindset.

Driver's license.

Willing to work extended hours and weekends and be on standby.

Passion for animal welfare.

Salary

R40000 – R47000

Benefits
  • Pension Fund (Compulsory) – 15% company contribution and 5% employee contribution
  • Medical Aid (Optional) – 80% company contribution and 20% employee contribution. This only covers the cost for the employee. Any added dependants are at full cost to the employee.
