National Sales Managers lead sales activities on a national scale, driving revenue growth and aligning sales. Our client is looking for a National Sales Manager to oversee sales activities at a national and exports level, coordinating sales strategies and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Strong leadership in managing regional and exports sales teams by driving and supporting consistent sales performance and market presence. The National Sales Manager plays a vital role in driving national sales growth, expanding market reach, and achieving revenue targets.

Must have sound strategic direction, ability to create cohesive sales strategies, target national and exports customer segments effectively, and gain a competitive edge in the national and exports market. Must be skilled to support and analyze national market competitiveness, driving business success, and elevating brand visibility and recognition on a broader scale through collaboration with the marketing and training department.

Job Brief : We are currently looking to hire a passionate, results oriented, driven National Sales Manager to lead the sales function in the country and exports and develop & implement the country and exports sales strategy in line with overall business objectives.

Your main responsibilities will include :

  1. Driving sales objectives and achieving commercial budgets and targets
  2. Building a high-performing sales team by providing strong mentorship, coaching, and guidance
  3. Identifying and acquiring new customers and up-selling to the existing customer base
  4. Building strong relationships with key accounts
  5. Ensuring accurate sales forecasting and account planning
  6. Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts
  7. Building strong and collaborative relationships with other internal and external stakeholders
  8. Coordinating with other teams to ensure the smooth delivery of products & services to customers
  9. Analyzing market trends and competitors' activities and formulating strategies to respond to these in close collaboration with the marketing team
  10. Have experience and good understanding of the working exports markets
  11. Understand the importance and value of CRM, having the experience to analyse the data to support the sales outcomes
  12. Develop and maintain solid KOL relationships with key stakeholders
  13. Support the Regional Sales Managers to excel and be out the box thinkers
  14. Develop KPIs and measurements to drive efficiency in the sales organisation
  15. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market insights to inform decision-making
  16. Build strong sales and interdepartmental alignment within the organisation
  17. Results-oriented with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and business success
  18. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  19. Be aware of the regulatory requirements nationally and in the export markets
  20. Guide the sales organisation to follow the SAMED marketing code of ethical marketing and sales
  21. Willingness to travel as required
  22. Must be based in Gauteng

Key Requirements :

  1. You have a diploma / degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  2. You have a strong track record of success with prior experience in a similar role
  3. You are a hands-on leader who is a strong coach & mentor with a strong track record of building & leading high-performing sales teams
  4. You possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  5. You possess good analytical skills and an excellent problem-solving ability
  6. You have advanced knowledge of Excel and the ability to use spreadsheets, graphing, tables, calculations, and automation efficiently to process large quantities of data relevant to business tasks
  7. You are a strong team player who can build good relationships at all levels of an organization
  8. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  9. Strong decision-making skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  10. Driving local team to deliver results; improving skills to showcase commercial excellence and leading ongoing organizational change
