Application to be submitted to : Reference : Please use "Banquet Chef" in the subject lineClosing date : 4 November Position Type Permanent | Full-time Job Summary To efficiently manage the kitchen & catering function ensuring financial, quality and service parameters are met as per the commercial contract requirements Education / Qualification and Experience Requirements Minimum Education / Qualification : Minimum Level / Years of Experience : Matric / Culinary Arts / Chef Qualification 5 years' experience in similar role / environment Key Performance Areas Stock Control Menu Planning Hygiene, Food Safety, General Safety & Quality Standards Management of Food Production and Service Management of Human Resources (subordinates) General Assistance Self-Management Competencies And Skills Required Professional Cooking Skills, able to produce meals professionally across a wide range of menus ensuring skilful presentation Basic Menu Planning Skills, able to plan menus at a basic level and in liaison with the Catering Manager Communication Skills, able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing Basic Financial Skills, able to grasp basic financial concepts & perform job related calculations to meet the requirements of the position Interpersonal Skills, able to develop effective interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders People Management, able to lead, motivate and encourage team members to achieve deliverables Planning and Organising Skills, able to plan, prioritise, schedule and organise activities and resources to meet deliverables or deadlines Additional Skills Requirements Previous high-end B & I experience will be an advantage Excellent customer and client interaction skills – outgoing personality Own transport Banqueting / Buffet Excellent cost tracking Diverse cuisine knowledge Finesse and Excellent communication skills Disqualifiers No sufficient working experience in a similar role No qualifications Criminal record No previous experience in high end B & I contract catering Transformation commitment As part of CSG Group's ongoing transformation journey and commitment to employment equity, this appointment will be made in line with our EE and diversity goals.
