About the Role We’re looking for a passionate, results-driven Director of Business Development to lead our expansion in South Africa and across Africa . You’ll drive growth, build strategic partnerships, and introduce Optiontown’s groundbreaking travel subscription products to airlines, enterprises, and SMEs . What You’ll Do Drive sales growth and market penetration across Africa. Develop and manage partnerships with airlines and corporate travel buyers. Create and pitch customized business proposals. Negotiate and close strategic deals that create long-term value. Collaborate with global product and marketing teams to localize offerings. Track market trends and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities. What We’re Looking For 10+ years’ experience in sales, account management, marketing, or revenue management with a leading airline (South African Airways, etc.), an online travel agency, or a technology provider to airlines (like Amadeus, Sabre, etc.) in Johannesburg. Strong sales drive, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Deep understanding of African travel markets and growth ecosystems. Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills. Bachelor’s/Master’s in Business, Marketing, or related field. Familiarity with AI-driven or subscription-based models is a strong plus. Why Join Optiontown?
