Job Function To lead and manage the continuous improvement function across retail logistics operations, driving operational excellence through strategic initiatives, process optimization, and capability building. Key Performance Areas Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute continuous improvement strategies tailored to retail logistics. Lead cross-functional improvement projects from ideation to implementation and sustainment. Align improvement initiatives with business goals and performance metrics. Operational Excellence: Standardize logistics documentation including SOPs, visual management tools, and technical guides. Apply Lean principles to enhance warehouse efficiency, inventory accuracy, labour utilization, and throughput. Process & Performance Optimisation: Identify and implement initiatives to reduce cost, cycle time, and lead time in retail logistics. Conduct time studies and establish labour standards using engineering data. Drive improvements in safety, quality, and consistency across logistics operations. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with supply chain, warehouse, and retail teams to identify improvement opportunities. Support leadership in developing logistics system roadmaps and performance tracking. Data-Driven Analysis: Analyse logistics data to uncover inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. Utilize tools such as Process Mapping and Value Stream Mapping to eliminate waste. Training & Capability Development: Facilitate training sessions on Lean and continuous improvement methodologies. Coach logistics teams to build internal capability and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Performance Management & Reporting: Implement daily performance management systems including schedule adherence tracking. Monitor and report progress of improvement initiatives against defined targets. Kaizen & High-Performance Systems: Lead and support Kaizen events focused on process improvement and cost reduction in logistics. Promote high utilization systems across all logistics areas. Strategic Projects & Sustainability: Manage strategic improvement projects including equipment selection and maintenance planning. Support new product introductions through Lean process integration in logistics operations. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field. Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher preferred). Experience and Skills Required Proven experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives within retail logistics or supply chain environments. Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies. Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional projects and delivering measurable improvements.
