Job Description The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will be responsible for leading a team of Professional Sales Representatives, achieving territory sales targets, coaching and supporting the sales team, and executing strategic sales plans in line with the company’s goals. Responsibilities Team Leadership & Performance Management: Lead and manage a team of Professional Sales Representatives to meet territory sales targets, SFE and call objectives; align team activities with marketing and organizational goals. Sales Target Achievement: Maintain the sales function across the allocated territory to ensure targets are achieved; conduct daily field visits to coach and guide the sales team. Event Coordination & Representation: Support planning and execution of divisional initiatives (conferences, speaker programs, promotional events) regionally and nationally. Strategic Implementation: Develop and execute strategic sales action plans aligned with marketing and sales plans; ensure measurable outcomes. Client Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders (General Practitioners, Specialists, Pharmacists) as identified with the KAM and National Sales Manager to drive business performance. Client Database Management: Maintain an up-to-date database of targeted clients within the territory. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with the KAM and National Sales Manager to identify and capitalize on regional opportunities. Business Review Presentations: Build and present monthly and quarterly RSM reviews at the executive level. Qualifications Educational qualification: A graduate degree in any Science stream. Minimum work experience: 5-8 years in Sales & Marketing, with at least 3 years as Regional Sales Manager; strong Neuroscience experience mandatory. Skills & attributes: Excellent communication, coaching ability, data-driven decision making, relationship-building, and the ability to work autonomously or in a fast-paced team. Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of the SA pharmaceutical industry, product and disease knowledge (Neurology/Neuroscience), sales forecasting, data analysis, regulatory guidelines.
