BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

PURPOSE The ideal candidate will support the sales and business development functions by identifying new opportunities, assisting in proposal generation, and maintaining strong client relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to grow in the mining and mineral processing industry with a leading equipment supplier. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Business Development Manager in sourcing and qualifying leads. Assist in the preparation of quotes, proposals, and tender documentation. Maintain regular contact with prospective and existing clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities. Update CRM systems and ensure all sales activities are properly logged. Attend site visits, client meetings, and industry events as needed. Collaborate with internal departments (technical, costing, marketing) to align on client needs and deliverables. Provide feedback from the market to inform strategy and product development. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE National Diploma or Degree in Engineering, or related field. 3-5 Years of sales experience (preferably in mining, industrial equipment, or technical services). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM software is a plus. Valid driver’s license and passport. Available to travel into Africa and other continents. PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES Technical understanding of mineral processing or industrial machinery. Prior exposure to tender processes or capital equipment sales. Enthusiasm for the mining and metals industry. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). Proactive, self-driven, and results oriented. Willingness to learn and grow within the sales and mining sectors. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organisational and time management skills.
