Overview Our client a leading Chemical Manufacturing company based in Durban is looking to fill the position of Junior Process Engineer. Key Responsibilities Execution of critical capital expenditure projects. Management of change process. Process engineering support to the operations team. The development of conceptual designs. Doing costing and proposal developments and developing Gantt charts / project timelines. Obtaining quotes and submitting Capex requirements. Contractor management and project progress reporting. Day-to-day contractor oversight. Pre-commissioning and commissioning of the plant. Financial reports on project cost. Supporting the project manager on projects across sites. Ensure that all relevant engineering standards and best practices are incorporated into all installations. To actively seek to improve processing techniques in conjunction with the Plant teams to achieve reduction in cycle times and utility consumption. Champion energy management programs and tracking. Investigate process deviations and find solutions. Assist with implementing the companys process safety program across all sites. Champion the MOC process and chair HAZOPs / risk assessments. Qualifications and Experience Matric / Grade 12 BSc in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering 3-5 years experience in project / process engineering Completion of a Candidate Engineering program. Experience in leading and completing minor projects and involvement in major projects. Able to play a supporting role in major projects to the senior engineering team. Good understanding of process safety and lean six sigma principles. Ability to plan prioritize and meet deadlines attention to detail commitment.
