Aftermarket Manager - Crushing Solutions - Africa Join our team at Sandvik Rock Processing and help reshape the future by advancing eco‑efficient rock processing. We are looking for a highly motivated, results‑oriented Aftermarket Manager for our Stationary Crushing and Mobiles divisions. The role will report to the Business Line Manager – Stationary Crushing (and dotted line to the Business Line Manager – Mobiles) and be an integral part of executing the aftermarket strategy of these divisions across Sales Area Africa. Location: Spartan, Kempton Park. Purpose of the role Lead our aftermarket organisation in Sales Area Africa, aligning the Africa aftermarket strategy with the Division BLM and executing action plans & initiatives that drive engagement, satisfaction, retention, and growth. Manage the Territory Southern Africa Aftermarket organisation. The job responsibilities Develop and implement a plan for the Africa Sales Area based on the Division Aftermarket strategy, focusing on growth & retention and ensuring each territory has the necessary services and skills development. Promote and monitor aftermarket agreements and utilize commercial offering to secure AM business. Promote and follow the introduction of products to ensure AM capture rate on any new installed base. Develop a roadmap for the development of competencies for the organisation lifecycle and promote initiatives to share knowledge in the region. Establish and maintain an organisation that supports the fulfilment of strategic and financial objectives. Participate in establishing the commercial strategy (3‑5 yr plans) and follow up on specific actions that ensure compliance with strategic objectives. Create an organisation that provides high‑level technical assistance on products and applications to the division(s) and quality support to customers. Work with Territory Managers and Service Managers to develop aftermarket strategy and execution plans to grow aftermarket business in each territory. Increase the capabilities of service teams through regular certifications, trainings, webinars, etc. Promote the use of available tools, including digital tools, to provide a better service to our customers. Promote digitisation of the fleet and monitor the status of digitised equipment. Ensure AM resources support the Africa region requirements and develop and present business cases for additional resources. Work with Territory Managers to ensure aftermarket business is supported and build business cases for investments. Promote the repair strategy to enhance and grow the aftermarket business and ensure necessary partners or facilities. Gather and manage work teams to perform root‑cause analysis when failures occur in strategic clients. Collect troubleshooting information and refer it to the factory support line. Manage guarantees. Consolidate and communicate technical and security bulletins and monitor correct application of new measures. Ensure technical information about Sandvik’s offering and competitors is up to date. Ensure data in the installed database is accurate and properly developed. Manage fleet database. Manage market share database. Identify opportunities to replace competitor equipment. Ensure optimal set‑up & management of customer service/support (CSC) and technical sales support to optimise customer experience. Work with logistics and inventory management functions to ensure optimal supply chain set‑up and timely supply of customer orders, improving availabilities through forecasting and planning. Assist in other tasks within reasonable scope, including AM support for growth opportunities. EHS Responsibilities Deliver resources for effective control of EHS risks. Promote the EHS Policy and Company Values with a focus on EHS. Develop EHS activities and actions associated with the annual commitment. Ensure compliance and execution of audits in safety, health and environment. Ensure compliance and application of the EHS Plan, strategies in safety, health and environment. Ensure non‑repetition of events through effective learning from incidents. Verify at Ground Zero the understanding and application of rules, procedures and leaders’ roles. Implement corrective actions based on incidents or learning. Promote and encourage continuous improvement, innovation, and implementation of best practices. Encourage recognition of staff for achievements in safety and good practices. Qualifications & Experience Requirements BEng Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering, Engineering in mines, maintenance or similar. +5 years in a similar managerial role with exposure in mining industry and related industries. +5 years management experience mandatory. Other Requirements & Competencies Knowledge of vibrating and/or crushing equipment. Good understanding of mining site plants and process engineering. Sound judgement and problem‑solving ability. Listening and logic interpretation. Strong customer orientation. Advanced communication skills. Demonstrated leadership & mentoring skills. Must be flexible and self‑reliant, self‑starter. Excellent time management. Sound commercial reasoning and contract management. Financial understanding and preparation of budgets & forecasts. Strong understanding and compliance with Health and Safety in the workplace. Ability to make sound decisions, execute plans & take initiative. Computer literacy and MS Office proficiency.
