The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, coordinating, organising and implementing various objectives in the industrial division to meet the organizational goals, and to ensure the business unit’s profitability and sustained growth.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide strategic leadership, direction and overall management
  • Identify business opportunities within the industrial sector
  • Liaise with clients and execution teams regarding scope of business
  • Prepare annual budgets and strategic plans and ensure effective control thereof
  • Review financial forecasts and report on variances
  • Co-ordinate activities of several alternatives concurrently across business boundaries
  • Guide operational issues, monitor progress and make necessary adaptations
  • Provide direction on both tactical- and operational implications
  • Perform duties and responsibilities as specified by Managing Director
  • Ensure good governance of business unit
  • Review business processes for improvement
  • Manage and motivate a competent supervisory team
  • Proactively work with marketing teams to secure work for the unit
  • Ensure that operations, logistics, safety, procurement, marketing and human resource issues are
    supported and co-ordinated
  • Support and ensure a positive and dynamic culture exist in the unit

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ management experience of which at least four at a senior level in an industrial
    environment
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering
  • Considerable knowledge of the principals, techniques, and practices of the industry
  • Strong planning, organising and directing skills
  • Dynamic drive and results orientation
  • Good financial planning understanding and strategic management skills
  • Able to foster good internal and external relationship
