RPO Recruitment is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager to join our client's prestigious mining company. As a Plant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the mining plant and ensuring its efficient and safe functioning. You will play a critical role in managing resources, optimizing processes, and adhering to regulatory standards within the mining industry.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and manage the plant operations, ensuring smooth production and adherence to business plans and process parameters
- Develop and implement long-term resource and mining strategies, coordinating the flow of ore and services to the plant
- Compile and control production, quality, and cost budgets to maximize plant efficiency
- Build and nurture a high-performing team, fostering a positive employee relations environment in a unionized setting
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and the company's Health and Safety Standards
- Take charge of financial management, including operational and capital cost budgets
- Drive research and development initiatives to enhance plant performance and efficiency
- Maintain strong client relationships and actively communicate on all relevant plant matters

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Metallurgy Engineering
- Postgraduate qualification would be considered advantageous
- Proven experience of 10-12 years in a plant mining environment
- At least 5 years in a supervisory or management position
- Strong knowledge of the mining industry and its processes
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Sound financial acumen and budgeting skills
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
