Reference: CTE -NMi-1 A leading renewable energy company committed to creating a sustainable future through innovative solar energy solutions is seeking an embedded systems engineer who will play a key role in contributing to the electronic design of renewable energy solutions for the consumer electronics industry. Duties & Responsibilities Develop and manage test strategies for devices and products/systems to be executed during product/system design verification. Provide peer guidance to lower-level engineers and technicians to bring projects to successful completion. Electronic hardware design and PCB layout. Design of product electronic hardware including material selection, impedance calculations, PCB stack-ups, PCB track layout, component placement, etc. Perform reviews on the design when it is ready for fabrication/assembly. Prepare product and manufacturing documentation packages as required by the project and maintain documentation during the lifecycle of the product utilizing configuration control. Continuous improvement and optimization of product design for performance, cost, and reliability. Identify and track technical issues and drive them to closure. Liaise with other R+D team members and supply chain as needed to develop cost-effective high-quality designs. Skills & Experience Minimum of 10 years’ experience in embedded systems. Experience in code planning/design using C/C++, Python, and Linux. High-volume production experience will be advantageous. Experience in an environment where design or implementation of standards/workflows about structured systematic hardware, management, release testing procedures, documentation standards, and version control were imposed. Qualification BEng/BSc in Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering. Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
