Business Development Lead

Our client, a well-established technology company, who is at the forefront of providing world class payment aggregation and secure payment solutions, is looking for an Business Development Lead to join their growing team.
The main purpose of the role is to take responsibility for step growth in transaction volumes through servicing existing billers effectively, and through the onboarding of new high volume potential billers. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and proactive self-starter ,with the ability to switch between high level strategy and detailed work Furthermore the candidate is disciplined and tenacious, seeing opportunities through to completion.
Role responsibilities
- Growing transaction volumes through servicing current billers under management
- Sourcing & onboarding of new high-volume billers
- Grow transaction volumes through retailer and digital payment networks
- Establish a truster advisor relationship with key (existing and prospect) biller stakeholders
- Identify and develop strategic partnership – banks, referral partners, etc.
- Explore innovative new solutions and strategic opportunities across the business.
- Act as key interface between billers / prospects and internal departments
- In conjunction with Marketing manager, maintain marketing presence at billers and payment networks
- Liaise internally to ensure operations pertaining to billers run smoothly
- Track and report key business opportunities, sales analysis and forecasts, solutions and query management
Essential minimum qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- 5-8 Years similar experience in the payments / financial industry, with referenceable sales and enterprise level client relationship management experience
- Understanding of payments environment (retailers, digital, banking, card schemes, EFT, settlement, acquiring etc.) would be highly beneficial.
- Fluent in English (Afrikaans will be beneficial).
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite).
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel fairly often
- Clear criminal, fraud and credit record
Note that this is a hybrid role, and will require time in office (Bryanston)
