Senior Mechanical Designer – Cape Town Our client is currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join their growing team in Cape TownThe role requires producing high quality, cost effective, detail 3D designs and general arrangement drawings. The designer will, in general, work under the supervision of the Principal Designer, Lead Discipline Design Engineer or the Project Lead Engineer.DutiesBe proficient in all aspects of 3D MicroStation software (and preferably OBD) and to use those skills within the company's defined CAD procedures.Be proficient in the layout and detailing of materials handling and mine plant design in their nominated discipline.Produce design drawings that are consistent industry standard techniques and that comply to the company's drawing office and CAD procedures.Guide, lead and Mentor junior to intermediate Mechanical DesignersBe capable of producing design drawings within the project defined budget hours for the defined deliverable document.Sound understanding of fabrication and construction techniques.Check design drawings as required.Minimum RequirementsSouth African Citizen or Permanent ResidentCape Town basedProficiency in Bentley 3D MicroStation software.Qualification in Engineering Design Drafting of their discipline or directly related industry experience of 15+ years.Ability to consistently provide designs and solutions within agreed milestone dates and to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.Ability to manage drafting team and achieve budget manhours and milestone deliverable dates.Demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge for mineral processing designs and technologies in various commodities.Demonstrate a high level of technical ability within the field of expertise and a broad understanding and knowledge base in the minerals processing engineering field.Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft suite of software packages.
