We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Designer to join our growing team in Cape Town, reporting to the Principal Designer. The Mechanical Designer will produce high quality, cost‑effective, detail 3D designs and general arrangement drawings under the supervision of senior design personnel. Responsibilities Be proficient in all aspects of 3D MicroStation software (and preferably Aecosim or Triforma) and use those skills within Lycopodium defined CAD procedures. Be proficient in the detailing of materials handling and mine plant design in the nominated discipline. Produce design drawings that are consistent with industry standard techniques and comply with Lycopodium drawing office and CAD procedures. Work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills. Produce design drawings within the project‑defined budget hours for the defined deliverable document. Understand fabrication and construction techniques. Commit to continued professional development. Qualifications Proficiency in 3D MicroStation software. Accredited qualification in Engineering Design Drafting or equivalent. Proficiency in 3D Triforma or Aecosim software. Experience with ProjectWise online file storage software. 5+ years in relevant discipline plant design process.
