The President Hotel is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation, and we are creating a new opportunity for a Reception Shift Leader to join our Front Office team.We are seeking a guest-focused and experienced Reception Shift Leader with a strong background in hotel front office operations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality, have excellent communication and organisational skills, and be confident in leading the reception team during their shift to ensure seamless guest experiences from arrival to departure.Experience & RequirementsMinimum 4 years' front office experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel environmentAt least 2 years' proven experience as a Shift Leader or Front Office SupervisorDiploma or certificate in Hospitality Management advantageousProficiency in Opera PMS (essential) and other hotel systemsStrong knowledge of front office operations, guest relations, and reservationsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a guest-centric approachProven ability to supervise, coach, and motivate staffAbility to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidaysProfessional, well-presented, and detail orientedSouth African citizen with a valid IDDuties & ResponsibilitiesSupervise and lead the reception team during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth front desk operationsOversee guest check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and billing with accuracy and professionalismHandle guest queries, complaints, and special requests, ensuring swift resolution and guest satisfactionConduct shift briefings, allocate duties, and monitor performance of front office staffSupport training and development of reception team membersEnsure compliance with hotel policies, SOPs, and brand standardsWork closely with Housekeeping, Concierge, and other departments to ensure smooth daily operationsPerform cash-ups, maintain accurate shift records, and assist with reporting as requiredRepresent management in their absence, ensuring professional standards are maintained at all timesImportant Application NotesMust hold a valid South African IDOnly candidates with relevant hotel front office leadership experience will be shortlistedEnsure your CV is 100% updatedAll applicants will attend a virtual introduction interviewAbout the HotelThe President Hotel is on a journey to be recognised as a true luxury destination.
