Our client is seeking a professional, reliable, and highly organized individual to take on the role of Facilities Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the buildings facilities, including managing external service providers, maintaining critical systems, and ensuring the building is kept to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facility Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the building, ensuring all systems (including generators and water systems) are functioning properly.
  • Service Provider Management: Manage and supervise service providers including concierge, garden maintenance, security, and contractors. Ensure work is completed to a high standard and in line with contractual agreements.
  • Vendor and Contractor Oversight: Approve and authorize work and payments for contractors, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
  • System Management: Maintain knowledge of building systems such as access control, generators, and water systems, ensuring their smooth operation.
  • Building Maintenance: Work with management and the Board to ensure that the building is kept in excellent condition, meeting aesthetic, safety, and operational standards.
  • Customer Service and Communication: Serve as the point of contact for any building-related issues. Communicate effectively with the management company, contractors, residents, and other stakeholders.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular checks and audits.
  • After-hours Work: Be available for after-hours work, responding promptly to any emergencies or urgent matters.
  • Technology Use: Utilize computer systems for reporting, managing maintenance logs, and tracking work progress.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience: Prior experience in facilities management, property management, or building operations is preferred but not mandatory. Experience managing contractors, security, or other service providers will be advantageous.
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of building systems such as generators, water systems, and access control.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively coordinate with contractors, tenants, and management.
  • Professional Appearance: The ideal candidate will present themselves in a professional and well-groomed manner.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to oversee operations and ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Technology Proficiency: Comfortable with computers and basic software applications.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues quickly and under pressure, ensuring minimal disruption to building operations.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
