Key Responsibilities
- Training Program Development:
- Design and develop training programs and materials, including workshops, e-learning modules, and on-the-job training sessions.
- Customize training content to suit different roles within the retail chain, from entry-level staff to management.
- Delivery of Training:
- Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions across multiple store locations throughout South Africa.
- Utilize a variety of training methods to accommodate different learning styles and ensure retention of information.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
- Continuously improve training content and delivery based on feedback and changing business needs.
- Coaching and Mentorship:
- Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship to staff members, particularly those in supervisory or management roles.
- Develop leadership development programs to prepare staff for advancement within the company.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with store managers and the HR department to identify training needs and priorities.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure training programs align with company objectives and initiatives.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of training activities and employee progress.
- Prepare regular reports on training outcomes and present findings to senior management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is advantageous.
- Relevant certifications in training and development (e.g., CPTD, CIPD) are a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a training or development role, preferably within the retail sector.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs to diverse audiences.
- Experience in using modern training tools and technologies, including e-learning platforms.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to motivate and inspire staff at all levels.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and learning management systems (LMS).
- Analytical skills to assess training effectiveness and employee performance.
