Divisional Manager: Hygiene and Pest Control

Job Duties:- Develop and implement strategies to drive growth and profitability within the Hygiene and Pest Control Division
- To implement Hygiene policies procedures, keep abreast of changes in other company policies procedures ensure that you as well as your subordinates are totally conversant with, implement them.
- To hold regular performance appraisals with all staff reporting to you, identify areas for development training needs ensure that this training is affected.
- To ensure that the company's training objectives are achieved.
- To ensure that sub-ordinates hold regular training sessions with the staff identified training takes place.
- To constantly be aware of current trends in the industry make suggestions how these could be implemented within the parameter requirements of each unit.
- To maintain a high standard of morale motivation through good communication skillsTo attend meetings, training sessions, seminars conferences when required
- Assist support divisional initiatives objectives as set out from time to time by the Division as a whole or support function such as Quality, Procurement, Training or HR Finance.
Unit Profitability:
- Ensure that each contract is operating to the agreed hygiene budgetary standards. This will include ensuring that budgeted margins are achieved, labour is managed within budget, equipment is well maintained controlled, hygiene consumable purchases are monitored all other expenses are managed.
- Ensure that the procurement procedures are implemented adhered to according to company policy.
- Ensure that achievable forecasts, budgets are prepared, submitted agreed for the period.
- Ensure the study analysis of monthly financial results, highlight problem areas take the appropriate action to rectify these.
- Ensure that deadlines as set by hub/ accountant for submitting unit information are adhered to
- Proven experience in a similar managerial role within the Hygiene and Pest Control industry
- Demonstrated track record of driving business growth and achieving targets
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong understanding of industry regulations and standards.
Service Delivery:
- Maintaining good client relationships ensuring retention expansion
- Ensuring units are appropriately serviced with qualified staff through a process of recruitment selection as per company policy.
- Ensuring consistently high service standards
- Ensure consistent high standards of any additional services are delivered (deep cleaning related hygiene services)
- Staying close to the customer communicate with them effectively, to ensure full awareness of their need's problems.
- Maintaining regular contact with the client, ensuring periodic minute meetings take place.
- Ensuring that staff are aware of satisfying the customer needs.
- Ensuring that company statutory hygiene practices, methodology requirements are strictly adhered to.
Financial Management:
- Make sure that administrative procedures are complied with by carrying out systematic, regular, physical checks on the following items:
- Cash checks (where applicable)
- Stock control (of main store)
- Bookkeeping control systems financial records
- Security procedures
- Monthly returns (sign off monthly trading accounts with hub manager / bookkeeper)
- Ensure debtors collection is in line with contractual agreements (30 days).
Discipline, Administration Procedures:
- Ensuring that all subordinates personnel files are up to date contain all items required by company statutory procedures/regulations.
- Ensuring that staff are correctly smartly dressed always displaying a name badge, stressing the importance of maintaining a good company image.
- Ensuring that the highest possible standard of personal hygiene is maintained.
- Ensuring that attendance registers are completed daily in accordance with statutory legislation.
- Ensuring all OHS Act (Occupational Health & Safety Act) other statutory requirements are adhered to.
- Ensuring that staff are informed of evacuation procedures.
- Ensuring that all statutory company legislation is prominently displayed in such a place as to be readily available to all staff.
- Carrying out disciplinary action in line with the Internal Disciplinary Code when deemed necessary.
- To attend union meetings CCMA cases when required
- Ensuring that our THS brand is protected, operated according to agreed standards.
- The upkeep of notice boards as set out in THS Policy Procedure file. Upkeep of unit records including a master file per unit with copies of all records agreements relevant to the unit.
- Managing Capital Expenditure by ensuring capital asset registers are kept at head office.
