Job Overview:Responsible for ensuring compliance with SHE Legislative requirements with site specific safety, health, environmental and quality standards according to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 as well as yard maintenance for all sites in East LondonCoordination of work systems to ensure that the services of the company meet the highest, Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Standards and that the working conditions of the company are favourable and safeTo improve and ensure cooperation, communication, and support between all departments with regular meetings to discuss weekly activities, actions and findings Requirements:Grade 12 / MatricOHS or SHE related qualification3-5 years’ experience in SHEQ environment3-5 years working experience as a SHEQ or OHS OfficerSAMTRAC QualificationHIRA CertificateIncident/Accident investigationMust be computer literate (Microsoft Office) and familiar with SHEQ DatabasesMust be up to date on all SHEQ, ISO and OHS legislation  Main Responsibilities:Ensure that all SHE responsibilities are conducted in accordance with OHS act, ISO standards, company and customer’s standards and proceduresEnsure that all safety and health requirements are in line with Standard Operating Procedure as displayed in various areas and the company’s Way of Working (WoW)Schedule and drive weekly departmental safety talksConduct weekly and monthly safety inspectionsFollow up with safety reps monthly reports and ensure their registers are completed and submitted before safety meetingsChair Safety Meetings and compile minutes for these meetingsEnsure all legal appointments are up to date and communicatedAssist with and coordinate emergency plan including evacuation and fire drillsConduct and assist with the completion of accident/incident investigationsConduct safety induction as well as other safety awareness training with new recruitments and existing staffAssist with the facilitation and implementation of worker training in such areas such as safety regulations, hazardous condition monitoring and use of safety equipmentConduct Spill training with all employeesReview and assist with SHEQ related training needs including internal and external SHEQ trainingPerform periodic internal SHEQ audits of all departments.Manage and control PPE supplies from suppliers and to employeesConduct Risk assessments, Inspect facilities, machinery and safety equipment to identify potential hazards and to ensure safety regulation compliance.Ensure Risk assessments are communicated to all levels within the company, including contractors and visitorsFollow up on and coordinate maintenance to be done on siteInspect first aid boxes at all sites and assist as a First Aid assistantControl environmental managementPlan and follow up on non-conformances raised and ensure effective preventative measures are implementedConduct departmental ISO Internal auditsEnsure IOD Reports are compiled and submitted to SHEQ ManagerFollow up on IOD’SCompile monthly SHE KPI’s reportsWork closely with damage coordinator on damagesInspect and obtain contractors OHS legal requirements as per section 37.2Ensure that all Environmental responsibilities are conducted in accordance with Environmental Legislation, Municipal Laws and By-Laws , ISO14001:2015, the company’s and the customer’s standardsEnsure that all Quality responsibilities are conducted in accordance with ISO, the company’s and the customer’s standardsEnsure the company’s Quality Management System is in line with ISO9001:2015 standards across all sitesMaintain the company quality management systemConduct departmental ISO 9001:2015 Internal quality audits as per the audit scheduleCompile reports for the company in conjunction with managersCompile monthly Quality KPI reports Key Skills and Competencies:Dependability, Time and AttendanceCommunication skillsInitiative and Attitude towards workProblem solvingJudgement and Decision making
