My Client one of the fastest growing businesses in the country is seeking an IoT Engineer that is passionate about software development that has a strong desire to make a positive impact. This is a hybrid position and can be based in Johannesburg or Cape Town.

As an IoT engineer at you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that manage solar PV systems on behalf of their customers, as well as their flexible load. As a team-lead, you will be responsible for the scoping and delivery of the various projects you will be working on and will have a say on what they focus on next.

Main job function

  • Design and develop software solutions that allow us to manage how power is used at customers' homes.
  • Work on cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, live time series data, design and integrate with IoT devices.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product design and quality assurance.

Here are some of the skills you will need:

· Strong IoT experience

· Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

· Testing and quality control & code reviews.

· Ability to coach the team in order to deliver a high-quality product on time.

Qualifications

Experience 5+ years working as IoT Engineer

TypeScript / JavaScript (2 years exp.)

Embedded C++ (2 years exp.)

AWS

Embedded C

Quickbase
