This role will play a key part in supporting both strategic and operational HR functions, ensuring compliance with HR policies and providing a positive employee experience.

Role Overview:
As an HR Generalist, you will manage the day-to-day HR operations, including the administration of policies, procedures, and programs. You will be the go-to person for both employees and managers, supporting the full employee lifecyclefrom recruitment and onboarding to performance management and offboarding.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Recruitment & Onboarding:
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and create job descriptions.
  • Source, screen, and interview candidates to ensure the best fit for the role and company culture.
  • Lead the onboarding process, ensuring new hires have a smooth transition into their roles.
Employee Relations & Engagement:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries related to HR policies and procedures.
  • Promote a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives.
  • Provide support in resolving employee relations issues and mediate conflicts when necessary.
Performance Management:
  • Coordinate and support the performance review process, including coaching managers and employees.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans where needed.
Compliance & Policy Management:
  • Ensure all HR policies are current and compliant with South African labor laws and regulations.
  • Maintain employee records and handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Assist with internal HR audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Compensation & Benefits Administration:
  • Oversee payroll administration, employee benefits, and compensation packages.
  • Provide employees with guidance on benefits and salary-related questions.
  • Assist in the annual salary review process and administer employee benefits.
Learning & Development:
  • Support learning and development initiatives, coordinating training programs and identifying training needs.
  • Assist in developing leadership programs for managers and future leaders within the company.
HR Data & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate HR records and generate HR reports such as headcount, turnover, and performance statistics to inform strategic decisions.
Key Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of South African labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar HR Generalist role.
  • Experience in recruitment, employee relations, and compliance is essential.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and discretion.
