JOB DESCRIPTION:
TITLE: Retail Store Manager
LOCATION: Cape Town, SA
REPORTING TO: Retail Manager
SALARY (6 months): Tbc
START DATE: Tbc
DURATION: 6 Month Contract +Option to extend or upgrade to permanent agreement
PROBATION PERIOD: 1 month
HOURS: Rota basis (the store is closed on Sundays)
INCENTIVE: Incentive program to be confirmed
HOLIDAY BENEFITS: To be confirmed in line with company procedure.

Inspired by Africa's transition from Dark Continent to Bearer of Light, tales of the mermaid goddess of oceans Mami Wata, and a passion for surfing, Bantu was created by merging the rich history of African art and textiles with Africa's deeply rooted surf culture.
Bantu uses traditional processes and works exclusively with local vendors and artisans in Africa to make quality products that are functional and authentic for surfers, urban nomads and afro-punks.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
OPERATIONS
Managing all operational aspects of the BANTU Retail Store in Cape Town. To manage professional relationship with local stake holders.
SALES & CUSTOMER SERVICE
We are looking for a positive and motivated individual to act as an ambassador for the brand, and bring a modern and innovative approach to sales and customer service. To train and motivate Sales Associates to achieve and exceed personal and store sales targets. Manage and lead team efforts in sales, customer service, clientelling and customization.
VISUAL MERCHANDISING
Ensuring Product Presentation is correctly managed in line with seasonal themes and brand calendar.
STAFF TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
Provide seasonal training and product direction to Sales Associates. Provide on the spot coaching and feedback to ensure Sales Associates are empowered and motivated to achieve sales targets. Create a positive team dynamic and shared responsibility for sales targets and broader store P&L.
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS
Working with the wider BANTU team to develop and implement dedicated store marketing calendar. Communicating with Head Office to prepare store specific mailers to highlight key product stories & sales promotions. Coordinating in-store events and out-of-store events to connect with a broader customer base.
SYSTEMS & REPORTING
Perform daily reporting and analysis as required. Efficient and accurate management of stock control, reporting and replenishment. Introducing initiatives for improved performance as necessary.
