Strategy Lead / Chief of Staff – RMP

We will rely on you to:

Core Research & Advising Responsibilities

  • Be a thought partner to the Managing Director to determine and prioritize decisions, manage time, prepare materials, and brainstorm strategic objectives
  • Provide high-level, quick, and in-depth analysis of policy, politics and industry trends
  • As needed, serve as surrogate for Managing Director at meetings and presentations
  • Support the Managing Director in creating presentations materials, background briefs and talking points. Maintain post-meeting debriefs and communicate to relevant stakeholders
  • Support the writing of internal communication, op-eds, articles, speeches, memos, and broader high-level stakeholder communication.
  • Produce consolidated reporting to Managing Director, including tracking, reporting of internal documents that require coordinating data and information from around the organization
  • Respond to a variety of special projects and drive from genesis to execution.

Core Operations Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships cross-functionally within teams
  • Team project manager to make sure we are on track for major initiatives short and long term and make sure we are thinking long term and not just what is immediately in front of us
  • Help to run team meetings, team building, culture creation
  • Manage near and long-term meeting agendas and preparation for Managing Director. Screen requests for time/opportunities, gather backgrounds on meeting attendees, develop preparation material and ensure needed support from team in attendance and meeting materials
  • Attend meetings with and on behalf of Managing Director, synthesize notes and facilitate action items and follow up items, ensure logging in CRM
  • Strategize, develop, and track key performance metrics for the organization to inform status and future opportunities
  • Spearhead and implement programs, systems, workflows, or processes that strengthen political knowledge and impact, improve tracking and performance evaluation, or reduce redundancies.
  • Work with Finance to manage the annual department budget for Comms and coordinate with Legal, Finance, and Accounting teams for necessary information, compliance disclosures and reports.

What you need to have:

  • Advanced degree/Masters qualification (any appropriate field)
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
  • A unique individual who can balance strategy creation with a strong bias for action and execution.
  • 5-7 of relevant work experience in a consulting environment or management role
  • Ability to work with a high-level of ambiguity, exercise initiative and work with briefs of varying detail.
  • Meaningful and demonstrated history of operational efficiency and optimization
  • Exceptional project manager with extraordinary organization skills
  • Outstanding data mining skills and insight generation capability
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong command of modern technology (MS Office, Google Workspace, Calendly, Zoom and other emerging technology)
