About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Strategy to join our team at Ogilvy Johannesburg. As a senior leader and key member of our management team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our agency and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead brand teams in integrated strategy, uncovering unique customer insights and identifying key compelling strategic opportunities.
  • Nurture and champion the big creative idea, leading brainstorm sessions that result in areas of opportunity for the brand.
  • Design and manage research projects, analyzing qualitative and quantitative research results for agency and client needs.
  • Utilize proprietary and secondary research to identify and assess target characteristics and needs, strength of competition, and cultural attitudes and behaviors toward brands.
  • Optimize the impact of customer insights in program development by inspiring and partnering with creatives.
  • Lead Integrated Strategy Team(s), overseeing and actively developing, training, and mentoring direct reports to continually improve output.
  • Participate in the agency's Senior Leadership Team(s), playing an active role in defining and clarifying agency short- and long-term Go-to-Market strategy and suite of offerings.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in agency leadership, brand strategy leadership, digital strategy leadership.
  • Team leadership, POV and Thought Leadership, Effectiveness commitment and capability.
  • Research, statistics, social and behavioral sciences, or another related content area.
  • Effective and persuasive leadership, comfortable with all levels of interaction across the business.
  • Proven management skills and ability to manage day-to-day operations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strategy Team leadership towards development and realizing of goals.
  • Respectable operational comprehension of the data and qualitative research.
  • Proven client management skills and experience of client relationship building.
  • Solid working expertise of the market overall and provide a broad perspective on the critical issues facing a brand.
  • Strong Partnership with the creative leadership and teams to drive the necessary impact and championing creative excellence.
