The program offers you the opportunity to become part of the dynamic and fast-paced environment of a leading risk knowledge organization over an 18-month period. During this time, you will receive comprehensive on-the-job training, including a job rotation allowing you to collaborate across various business units. The program is set to commence on January 1st, 2025.

About the Role

We are searching for an intellectually curious, highly motivated, and passionate Graduate to join our Life & Health (L&H) Client Markets Team situated in Cape Town.

You will play a key role in the pricing of life & health business and in developing innovative products and services to meet our client's requirements.

Your responsibilities will include providing high-quality actuarial input to clients and the cross-functional team within Swiss Re, gaining an in-depth understanding of the L&H reinsurance market through teamwork, and contributing to innovative reinsurance solutions for the wider Swiss Re Group.

  • Support Senior Client Managers in new business development and collaborate with specialists to introduce Swiss Re's solutions to clients
  • Aid in day-to-day pricing activities across different lines of business in the target markets
  • Analyze data related to emerging risk experience
  • Assist in designing insurance products aligned with the pricing basis and risk management environment
  • Provide quotes to clients, particularly regarding group risk benefits
  • Collect, analyze, and present data for annual industrywide surveys

About the Team

The Client Markets team's objective is to deliver Swiss Re's reinsurance solutions to clients, set strategies, and ensure effective communication within cross-functional account teams.

We are searching for a highly motivated and enthusiastic team member to join our group.

You have:

  • Successfully completed a university degree in Actuarial Sciences or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 Actuarial Exemptions obtained
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

It would also be advantageous to have experience in re/insurance from internships or vacation work, as well as proficiency in programming languages (e.g., R).
