Santam's Actuarial Services team has an exciting opportunity for a general insurance professional at their Head Office in Tygervalley.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking talented analytical professionals with a focus on personal and commercial businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for various predictive modeling functions contributing to profitable development and financial results. Working closely with senior management, you'll play a key role in shaping the broader strategy.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and maintain pricing and risk management strategies
  • Support pricing, segmentation, and optimization models
  • Monitor financial, underwriting, and distribution performance
  • Create business reports to drive action
  • Continuous process improvement and strategy evaluation
  • Participate in strategic projects requiring actuarial input
  • Interact with underwriting, distribution, and claims departments
  • Support development of product solutions for market segments
  • Develop and maintain internal data assets for predictive modeling

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified/near-qualified actuary or equivalent. Maths, Statistics
  • Strong modeling skills with statistical investigations experience
  • 5 years of technical role experience
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Advanced computer literacy skills - SAS, Emblem, SQL, Java, etc.
  • Leadership and data management skills
