The Credit Risk Manager - Origination and Structuring

The Credit Risk Manager in charge of origination and structuring will support the Credit Risk Executive in creating and executing appropriate processes for assessing credit and investment risks. You will lead a team of credit analysts to ensure that all projects requiring development finance undergo assessment and approval processes. Responsibilities include negotiating terms with various teams, improving assessment processes, managing financial structuring, and legal documentation.

BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Structure and negotiate debt, quasi-equity, and equity investments aligning with business objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Evaluate potential development opportunities through detailed credit assessments, financial analysis, and market research.
  • Review legal documentation and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Design and oversee application processes with a focus on data accuracy.
  • Maintain policy frameworks and processes.
  • Develop risk assessment models for effective decision-making.
  • Oversee financial closure of approved transactions.
  • Manage internal stakeholders and contribute to reporting processes.
  • People Management.

REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Requirement: CA (SA)/ Masters in finance/Development Finance or equivalent.
  • 5 years' experience in structured Credit and Investment environment.
  • Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards, Companies Act, Corporate Governance, NCR, NCA, and related legislation.
  • Ability to assess credit, quasi-equity and equity risk and prepare submissions to Committees.
  • Understanding of lending and investment structures.
  • Strong financial modelling, deal structuring, due diligence, analytics, and valuations.
