Community Media Trust (CMT) is a South African NGO focusing on communication in the fields of basic human rights.

CMT aims to empower individuals and communities, encouraging them to take part in managing and improving their own lives, promoting healthy and health seeking behaviour and basic human rights.

It does this through media and outreach programmes that provide scientific information in a format that is easy to understand.

- driven individual with attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task between various campaigns and productions running simultaneously - "no task too big or too small". Salary commensurate with experience. This position will report to the Media Programmes Manager.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
( _including but not limited to_):1.

All the administration for the CMT production team:

- sourcing quotations
- preparing daily payment requisitions
- collecting service provider documentation
- taking production meeting minutes
- recon project / campaign spend / bank accounts / petty cash
- filing

Supporting the CMT internal Production team with:

- managing team travel request forms
- managing and booking team travel and logistics for focus groups, workshops, activations, and general production, including flights, ground travel and accommodation, per diems, etc.
- booking of focus group and workshop venues, facilitators, transcribers and translators
- managing workshop and meeting logistics, including attendance registers
- managing and dispensing transport and cellphone allowances
- reconciling of Meta Business accounts / spend
- managing budget line items in liaison with Media Programmes Manager
- communicating with agencies, broadcasters, crew, cast, funders, service providers, etc.
- supporting team with proposal submissions; and

Production of Stills Campaigns,
Video Campaigns / Production (doccies, social media, TV

PSAs)
and Radio Campaigns (Radio PSAs, drama) support, such as:

  • communication with cast / talent and crew agencies, through to bookings and negotiating cast and crew rates
- managing all shoot and production logistics and schedules
- responsible for Release Forms, Cast Contracts, etc.
- creation and issuing of movement orders and call sheets
- managing budget line items in liaison with Producer / Media Programmes Manager
- oversee and sign off on Petty Cash recons
- support Post Production re: completion of edits and delivery on deadlines
- voice-over artist bookings, and booking studio recordings and managing delivery of audio files
- bookings and negotiations with Post Production Facilities
- managing delivery of Master Footage
- processing of payments and other production administration requirements

Television production for broadcast:
- support during scriptwriting - scriptwriter support and workshop logistics, Final Draft script formatting
- support during pre-production - broadcaster budget development, sourcing supplier quotes, sourcing cast and crew CVs, agent communication and negotiation, location briefs, etc.
- support Post Production re: completion of edits and delivery on deadlines;
- bookings and negotiations with Post Production Facilities
- managing delivery of Master Footage; and
- processing of payments and other production administration requirements
- _Complete ad hoc duties as requested from time to time by your supervisor_

Minimum Requirements

  • At least three years' experience in a supervisory and production management capacity
  • Extensive general experience in the broadcast media industry
  • Expert proficiency in MS Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • People Management Skills

Advantageous

  • A general management qualification would be advantageous
  • Experience working with broadcasters, donors and government departments will be beneficial.
