  • Our client, a diversified organisation in Africa, with its Head Office in JHB, is now hiring a Chief Executive to work alongside the CEO and Executive Directors within tactical, risk, and operational security.

JOB SUMMARY:

Our client plans to become the leading diversified organisation in Africa through a world-class transport and utility infrastructure portfolio that has a pan-African presence.

They are positioning themselves to be the market leader in amongst others trade, transport logistics, tactical, risk, and operational security.


Objective

The objective of this role is to develop the divisional security strategy, charter, and policies to generate innovative and effective solutions and proposals.

Furthermore to institute appropriate governance, risk identification, mitigation, and controls.

Qualifications required

  • Minimum Qualifications: B Degree/National Diploma in the relevant field
  • PSIRA registered, Grade A/B
  • 510 years of experience in the security related environment of which at least 5 years must be at a management level
  • Knowledge of Security Systems, including CCTV, Access Control, and Intrusion Detection
  • Knowledge of the OHS Act and related Regulations
  • Knowledge of Project Management Tools / Techniques

Critical Competencies:

  • Solid knowledge of legal security requirements and applicable legislation
  • Implementation of digital solutions to improve business operations
  • Financial forecasting against the overall company strategy
  • Containing the cost of operations

Security Strategy

  • Manage the Security commercial team in the achievement of set objectives
  • Manage Stakeholder relationships
  • Management and review of existing security measures, updating protocols, and submitting reports, including proper documentation of all occurrences
  • Write and submit security reports on the state of security in the Group operational value chain
  • Maintain law and order within the operational value chain to protect life and property
  • Check and ensure guards are performing their duties, enforce discipline among the security team, and ensure that security personnel are aware of all security procedures
  • Assign duties and schedule security personnel in line with the needs of the company and efficiency standards
  • Leading the team in incident management and conflict resolution, supporting and developing team members in the performance of their duties, as well as managing poor performance as required
  • Completing effective health & safety assessments, risk assessments, and site evaluations collaborating with Group Sustainability and Group Legal divisions

Forensic Investigations

  • Develop and implement the investigation and Information management strategy
Develop and implement investigation principles and guidelines

  • Develop and Implement a system and procedure to ensure the investigation of tipoffs, allegations, and complaints, from internal and external applicants/employees or organizations are effective
  • Investigate the validity of complaints, tipoffs, allegations, and weaknesses in any processes, procedures, systems, and service conditions
  • Manage, lead, coordinate, plan, and organise the investigation function
  • Retain or confiscate exhibits and or samples
  • Interview internal or external witnesses and complainants.
  • Consult with law enforcement officials as and when required
  • Work together with internal auditors as and when required
  • Conduct trend analysis on investigation results for improvements and recommendations
  • Conduct process and method study and recommend scientific solutions
  • Present evidence at disciplinary hearings and court of law and be a credible witness
  • Research and recommend process improvements
  • Keep abreast with policies, procedures, technologies, and employee service conditions
  • Maintain accurate records of investigations through an effective and controlled archive system
  • Compile written statements from witnesses, and complainants, and gather evidence
  • Compile job procedures, standard work values, and or manuals of procedures as a solution to the relevant stakeholders
  • Provide regular feedback or progress to management
  • Provide support & advice to Line Management & Senior Managers/Executives at the national level
  • Protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information that is in custody

ecurity Screening

  • Provide inputs for the development and implementation of policies, guidelines, norms, and standards in vetting investigations
  • Conduct vetting investigations
  • Identify and outline possible security threats and trends
  • Partake in vetting projects and processes
  • Report on security compliance in respect of security screening or suitability
