Salary:
R30,000 - R40,000

A prestigious 5-star luxury hotel in Cape Town is seeking an experienced and meticulous Head Housekeeper.

This pivotal role involves leading the housekeeping team to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and guest service, ensuring an exceptional experience for all guests.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and organize the housekeeping team, ensuring efficient and effective operations. Train, mentor, and develop team members to uphold the hotel's standards.
  • Quality Control: Oversee and maintain the cleanliness and presentation of all guest rooms and public areas, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Guest Service Excellence: Address and resolve guest complaints and requests promptly, ensuring complete guest satisfaction. Foster positive relationships with guests by being approachable and responsive.
  • Inventory Management: Manage housekeeping inventory, including linens, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities. Conduct regular stock takes and place orders as needed to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and control housekeeping expenses, working within the allocated budget. Identify costsaving opportunities without compromising on quality.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, hotel policies, and standard operating procedures. Conduct regular training sessions on safety and cleanliness protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of experience in housekeeping, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role in a 5star hotel or luxury establishment.
  • Diploma in Hospitality Management or related field is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
