The Operations Team leader is a senior role that involves overseeing all aspects of the company's transport services.

It is the Operations Team leader's job to make sure the organisation is running as well as it possibly can, with a smooth efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of customers and clients in a safe and efficient manner.


Requirements:
Matric with logistics qualification advantageAdvanced Computer skillsMinimum 5 years plus Logistics experience Management skillsAbility to work in the Northern Suburbs of Cape TownDuties:

Manage and report any accidents or unsafe conditionsCompliance and knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations and other safety standardsCoordinate with Fleet department on vehicles available for schedulingManage mistakes and wasteMaintain effective and timely scheduling of staffFacilitate communication within the management teamMonitor all scheduled tasks to ensure they are efficiently completedProvide training to workforce - if and when neededResponsible for productivity metricsInterpret the Operations SOP and Company procedures to the control teamStaff management proceduresAssist CEO, Operational Director, Fleet Manager and IT Manager with research and development of new techniques and procedures to increase the efficiency of any transportation operationProvide additional assistance with projects and other activities as assignedPrepare annual budgets and reports concerning the operation costs Interacts with approved and authorised subcontractorsOversee that the scheduling of drivers hours is compliant with the statutory requirements set for the industryEnsure drivers pdp's and licenses are controlled and up to dateOversee the safety of subordinates in the vehicles and areas of workEffective communication by holding regular meetings with all partiesEffective support to Fleet department to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and safe Regularly attend client/customer briefings and meetings that relate to the operation areas or needs of clients and ensure these are effectively minuted and filedEffectively communicating incidents and accidentsMonitoring transport costs and minimizing accidents and damages as a result of driver negligenceMonitoring and maintaining OTA/OTD and breakdownsManage company culture, teamwork, accuracy, effective communication, productivity and feedbackEnsure reports are filedConduct a shift handoverIf this exciting position sounds like you, apply.
