Job Description:


Responsible for the overall management and successful completion of multiple IT projects of high complexity ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and according to agreed quality requirements.

Coordinate and manage relevant activities across projects streams and interface with relevant internal and/or external stakeholders.

Coordinate IT related issues, work with 3rd party suppliers, specialists and business departments to investigate, diagnose, and resolve IT related issues.

This role will form part of the Information Technology functions reporting into the Head of Technology.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Define project standard operating procedures and implement and manage end-to-end processes.

  • Establish and maintain a standard set of practices, processes and templates for managing projects and programs consistently and efficiently to reduce project related risk and costs.
  • Responsible for the endtoend project planning and a Project Management Plan including project Scoping, a Communications Strategy, RAID logs, Costs, Time, Quality and Stakeholder Management.
  • Maintain the Risk Log, Assumption Log, Issue Log, Dependency Log and Decision Log for administered projects.
  • Create project charters to identify project scope, critical success factors, risks, etc.
  • Define the project's scope and set milestones and deadlines.
  • Identify needed resources for projects, defines and assigns major project roles.
  • Define, manage, monitor and report on budget variances in order to maximize financial performance.
  • Plan, manage and monitor initiatives to ensure project delivery and service excellence to all project stakeholders.
  • Monitor compliance with project management standards, policies, procedures, templates and other shared documentation.
  • Partner with project stakeholders to complete business cases, prepare profit and loss analyses and design new templates as part of project selection and continuous improvement.
  • Assess Master Services Agreements and Statements of Work to highlight shortcomings that could lead to poor contracting and result in project loss / poor delivery.
  • Ensure that the appropriate project benefits are identified, quantified, realized and reported back to management and project stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and participate in internal communications activities to inform stakeholders of progress and issues.
  • Coordination, resolution and reporting of all technical operational tasks (includes incidents, major incidents, problems, changes and requests)
  • Informing management and escalating tasks as necessary
  • Perform root cause analysis of complex system problems and provide corrective actions.
  • Report on and Analyse metrics to evaluate Service desk and IT system performance and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures for IT related matters.
Deliver support to internal and external stakeholders on IT related challenges

  • Extensive knowledge of project management standards, processes, procedures, and guidelines as well as various IT project methodologies and service delivery life cycles.

  • Relevant BSC / BCom degree / Business Diploma or Advanced Management Diploma or equivalent work experience in a related field
