Our client, a bespoke retail bakery group, is looking for a District Manager who will be responsible for increasing sales and profits of the bakeries within the district through sound management and leadership practices.

This should be executed primarily through solid operation, financial management and people development to maximize Guest satisfaction.

The District Manager consistently demonstrates as well as enforces company policies, practices and procedures in a proactive and timely manner.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Three five years of multiunit retail or food service experience and/or related Associate degree.
  • Demonstrated consistent growth in financial results.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing people to the next level.
  • Strong general business experience and guest service orientation.

KEY OUTPUTS:

Sales and Profits

  • Achieves financial plans through increases in yeartoyear sales and cash contributions.
  • Communicates and follows up on promotional activities within the district.
  • Develops and assists the Bakery Managers with local marketing programs.
  • Executes and follows on the financial results on a period basis.
  • Manages relationships with landlords and uphold our lease rights.

Product Quality

  • Monitors product quality by managing bakery performance and providing specific feedback.
  • Ensure all bakeries meet or exceed Operations and Quality standards.
  • Trains and followsup on the execution of the PACE system.

Service

  • Evaluates WOW Service and takes corrective action as required.
  • Assure Guest satisfaction through identifying current and future needs of Guest.
  • Monitors Guest service and Guest's satisfaction on all visits.
  • Monitor bakery
- sampling programs.

  • Models and promotes the company culture and values.

Housekeeping

  • Monitors bakery cleanliness standards and gives corrective feedback on deficiencies.
  • Monitors bakery cleaning systems and evaluates bakery cleaning schedules.
  • Monitors process for reporting maintenance problems.

Staffing

  • Monitors bakery staffing plans to ensure adequate staffing in the district.
  • Forecasts management staffing needs with people power planning tools.
  • Conducts interviews with appropriate SHOW Selection tools and background process.
  • Accountable for management staffing, training, retention and turnover.
  • Monitors utilization of WOTC program within the district.

Training

  • Monitors and ensures execution of crewmember, crew leader, and assistant manager orientation and training processes within the district.
  • Conducts orientation sessions for new management hires.
  • Conducts training for managers on new products and refresher training as necessary.
  • Trains managers of the Full Field standards of execution.
  • Trains managers in changes in company policy or procedure.
  • Trains managers to identify potential problems and develop solutions.
  • Trains managers in use of performance appraisal system and forms.

Performance Management

  • Evaluate bakery operating performance with Full Field, Critical Few and Bakery Visit summary tools.
  • Monitors bakery production, labor controls and food/beverage costs using flowcharts, "buildto" and bakery scheduling.
  • Monitors bakery inventory levels to ensure product availability and optimum cash flow.
  • Analyzes weekly P & L, reviews results and develops/implements plan of action with team.
  • Identifies, evaluates and responds appropriately to labor efficiency problems.
  • Contributes to Zone team through achieving agreedupon results.
  • Conduct bakery manager reviews in a timely manner using the prescribed process.
  • Conducts routine, effective management meetings.

Policies and Procedures

  • Ensures compliance on procedures outlined in the Operations Manual and other company reference manuals.
  • Ensures compliance company cash control and security policy.
  • Ensures safe working conditions in each the bakery.
  • Ensures accidents and incidents are reported to Risk Management in a timely manner.
  • Monitors procedures for resolving Health Department violations promptly.
  • Monitors employee files and payroll records in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Monitors Compliance with all Equal Employment Opportunity and labor laws (state and federal).
  • Ensures that proper I9 identification and required information is in compliance.

Employee Relations

  • Effectively coach managers for improved performance.
  • Accurately, behaviorally and consistently document performance appropriate.
  • Uses consistent practices in managing performance problems.
  • Conduct bakery manager reviews in a timely manner.
  • Create and maintain an environment that fosters opencommunication.
  • Conduct investigations as required for cash, harassment or any unfair employment practice.
  • Effectively demonstrates positive workplace practices.

Administration

  • Accurately complete all required financial reports.
