The Heart and Stroke Foundation South Africa (HSFSA), a national not-for-profit organisation, is seeking to appoint a business manager to be placed in Cape Town.

The business manager is expected to have strong business acumen in order to drive, lead, and manage the activities associated with the HSFSAs income-generating programs' which serve the strategic direction of the Foundation.

He/She is also expected to source 'new business' and have skills in fund-raising with the purpose of sustaining the Foundation over the long-term.

The appointed individual will report directly to the CEO.

Requirements:

Have a certified accounting degree with business management qualifications from an accredited higher education institution
A minimum of five years business management experience in the private and/or public sector
Must have strong interpersonal and negotiating skills, commercial understanding and awareness
Must be organised with excellent attention to detail, have strong analytical skills, be computer literate, be familiar with accounting software packages, and have the ability to be flexible in a changing business environment
Must show initiative and have strong leadership skills to instill confidence
Must be well informed about ethical business practice and the regulatory framework governing this practice
Must have and maintain a professional demeanor
Must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills
Must understand contracting for business and operational requirements of the HSFSA and work with the legal team to solidify agreements
Must be willing to travel (a valid drivers licence for a manual vehicle obtained in South Africa is required)
A bachelor of commerce (accounting), a business management background, and established networks in the private and public sectors are definite requirements
