Job Purpose
The Commercial Manager collaborates closely with leadership, sales teams, and the financial director.

The role encompasses feasibility, proposals, forecasts, cash projections and risk assessments, fostering strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners while bolstering Safomar's reputation as a prominent player in the Aviation industry and other activities undertaken by the group.

The Commercial Manager to assist with optimising Safomar's profitability.

This role entails navigating a competitive market, and crafting effective commercial strategies that fuel revenue growth, thus shaping the company's market presence and driving overall business success.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare business plans and proposals for new business opportunities, assets acquisitions and leases: manpower requirements; infrastructure and facilities; cash and investments requirements; profit forecasts; cash flow projections; return of investments etc.
  • In preparation of business plans and proposals engage with marketing and sales departments.
  • Calculate the feasibility and profitability of new products and services.
  • Analyse key customer accounts and propose accelerated growth opportunities.
  • Participate and assist in developing sales strategies and new business models for all group companies.
  • Facilitate collection and analysis of market intelligence and competitor activities.
  • Identify all risks within all group companies and implement effective internal controls to mitigate and reduce identified risks.
  • Effectively research and analyse current financial portfolios.
  • Assist project teams in developing business proposals to ensure delivery outcomes are met within relevant timeframes.
  • Implement feedback measures to gauge the success and outcomes of projects to leverage further value and growth.
  • Provide internal leadership and coaching regarding tools, processes, methods, and strategies to support innovative development.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders and potential business partners.
  • Assist with establishing effective networking partnerships between new and existing contacts to develop and implement innovative commercial business opportunities.
  • Assist with commercial negotiations for new business opportunities and the preparation of commercial offers and agreements.
  • Liaise with all departments and group companies to develop, direct, research and undertake surveys on focus groups that contribute to the knowledgebuilding of the businesses.
  • Collaborate with director and General Managers to develop, implement and review quarterly commercial growth strategies.
  • Contribute to the business planning process by preparing the required commercial monthly variance reports, strategic outlook, and forecasts for the commercial business units.
  • Assist in ensuring that projects are aligned and conducted in a manner consistent with commercial policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A relevant university bachelor's science degree in economics and finance.
  • A minimum of 5 years of commercial experience gained in a hightech industry, ideally within the aviation/aerospace industry.
  • Experience in commercial risk management.

  • Indepth knowledge of the business landscape in Sub-Saharan Africa, providing valuable insights into the business dynamics.
  • Thrives in a fastpaced, demanding work environment, showcasing adaptability and resilience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial requirements for markets in subSaharan Africa geographic areas.
  • Expertise in customer segmentation and targeting strategies, enhancing market penetration.
  • Proficiency in business analysis methods and techniques, facilitating datadriven insights.
  • Work effectively with fellow employees and promote a positive working environment.

Salary:
R0.50 - R1.00 per month
