General Scope of Work:_

  • Business Development_
  • Setting and working towards meeting event targets for the region.
  • Take the lead with planning event marketing and sales strategies along with the marketing team.
  • Identifying new business opportunities in the eventing industry, and regular market research and competitor analysis.
  • Proactively increase event business, bringing in new accounts and repeat clients.
  • Managing the CRM pipeline and new event leads for the region.
  • Implementing and managing the full sales process and event offering in the region.
  • Ensuring that the sales process is carried out across the region, and consistent improvement of the sales approach.
  • Managing key accounts; create and build strong multisite relationships with top, regional and national clients.
  • Event management_
  • Following through with the full event process, from first contact though quoting and invoicing, events brief, preparation and testing, actual event, after care and feedback.
  • Being the point of contact for clients and creating an event brief.
  • Ensuring that catering is up to standard and exceeds the client expectations.
  • Post event follow up and feedback.
  • Team management_
  • Daytoday management of the events team.
  • Performance and discipline management.
  • Management of event spaces and AV/IT facilities_
  • Develop and manage best practice facilities and maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Implementation and review of facility and maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Ensure that clients experience 5star service through exceptional spaces and facilities.
  • Client management and satisfaction_
  • Managing and reviewing the client experience and satisfaction across the region.
  • Post event feedback.
  • Create and build strong client relationships.
  • Implement measures to improve the customer experience and ensure that there is consistency.
  • Financial management_
  • Quoting and invoicing.
  • Ensuring payments are received and managing debtors.
  • Following the finance process of raising PO's.
  • Supplier management.
  • Contracts and reporting_
  • Utilise data and reports to identify key trends, barriers and successes and implement plans to improve practices.
  • Ensuring all contracts are uptodate.
  • Team player/support_
  • General support to the location team and assisting all departments when necessary.

Ideal Qualifications/Experience_

  • NQF5 or relevant event management tertiary education.
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
  • 35 years experience as an event manager.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in event sales or marketing.
