An exciting career opportunity exists at Medipost Pharmacy WC CDU for Deputy Production Manager reporting to Production Manager Manager. This position is based in Parow, Western Cape.

Primary purpose of the job

  • To ensure the MDU production stream is operating effectively and efficiently within SLA (Service Level Agreements).
  • Manage Line managers within the MDU structure to ensure departmental output is achieved, company policies are adhered to and (Good Pharmacy Practice) GPP standards are met.
  • Analysing of constraints within the department's productivity and define possible system/operational and process changes.
  • Investigation of and accurate reporting of errors. (Helpdesk report)
  • Ensure MDU has sufficient consumables at all times and any problems are communicated to the consumable supervisor.
  • Ensure good housekeeping practises.
  • Ensuring adequate scheduling of locum staff when needed with in the locum budget.
  • Communicating regularly with production manager regarding problems or issues impacting production.
  • Establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of operations within the MDU production stream.
  • Setting productivity goals and incentive structures.
  • Driving the developing of workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
  • Daily monitoring of the Quality Control processes to ensure mínimal Production errors and service failures.
  • Liaise with relevant service providers to ensure optimum functionality of dispensing systems and equipment.
  • Scheduling downtime of dispensing systems for maintance.
  • Compiling and management of new (Standard Operating Procedures) SOP's if and when needed.
  • Perform any adhoc projects and manage projects which may be necessary for CDU Production Department and the Group at large.
  • Statistical reporting Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Ad-Hoc.
  • Attending and reporting in OCM, Manco and CDU operational meeting in the absence of production manager.
  • Probation and Performance management evaluations conducted within agreed timelines.
  • IR interventions done timeously and accurately.
  • Support Company Transformation Plan Strategy.
  • Identification of (High Performing Individuals) HPI's and Personal Development Plans (PDP) created.
  • Assist in stocktake planning.
  • Staff productivity monitoring and management.
  • Manage time & attendance according to Company Policies.
  • Recruitment, Selection and Retention of staff.
  • Member of the responsible pharmacist committee.
  • Act in place of the production Manager in their absence.

Time and Attendance

  • Strictly complying to the company's Time and Attendance policy,
  • Working back hours owed by the end of the month,
  • Timeously informing the Line Manager in the event of late or nonarrival,
  • Not exceeding the lunch hour,
  • Booking planned leave in advance,
  • Supplying the Line Manager with accurately completed leave and overtime documents.

Minimum requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B Pharm

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years managerial experience within a courier pharmacy production environment.
  • Experience working with automated dispensing units.

Salary:
R R102.00 per month
