Key Responsibilities:

  • Issuing Job Cards: Create and distribute job cards outlining production schedules, specifications, and requirements for each order. Ensure job cards accurately reflect the production plan and any specific instructions from clients or management.
  • Assigning Production Duties: Collaborate with production supervisors and team leaders to allocate production tasks to team members based on skill level, workload, and production priorities. Monitor and adjust assignments as necessary to enhance productivity and meet deadlines.
  • Overseeing Production Process: Serve as a central contact for all production-related inquiries and challenges. Track the progress of production activities, identify possible bottlenecks or delays, and implement solutions to maintain smooth operations and adherence to the schedule.
  • Ensuring Stock Availability: Partner with the procurement team to uphold sufficient levels of raw materials, components, and supplies essential for production. Predict material requirements based on production schedules and coordinate timely procurement to prevent shortages or disruptions.
  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Create and manage production plans and schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity limitations. Continuously assess production data and performance metrics to optimize scheduling and resource utilization.
  • Quality Control: Work with quality assurance teams to ensure production processes meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct routine inspections of production facilities and processes to pinpoint improvement opportunities and guarantee compliance with safety regulations.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain precise records of production activities, including job cards, production reports, and inventory records. Prepare regular reports summarizing production performance, resource utilization, and any issues or deviations from the plan.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in production planning or scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing setting, with familiarity with steel manufacturing processes as a bonus.
  • Proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and precision in planning and execution.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and juggle multiple priorities simultaneously.
