Key Purpose
The Risk Analyst position resides in the GRM IT Risk Management team, as part of the Group Risk

Management department in Corporate Services. The Risk Analyst is responsible to assist the team with

coordinating, communicating, and facilitating risk activities, in accordance with the policies and standards set by Group Risk Management (GRM).

The GRM IT Risk Management portfolio focus on the risk activities related to technology, information privacy, security as well as Combined Assurance and Project Risk Management.


Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

  • Coordinate, communicate and facilitate risk activities such as risk meetings, workshops and
reviews in alignment with the Group Risk Management frameworks.

  • Execute on the required risk management practices such as detailed risk and control assessments, reviews, emerging risk assessments, implement Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), review dispensations, and monitor action plans associated to the risks and maintain the risk data in the risk system.
  • Coordinate risk reporting in line with reporting cycles.
  • Perform data analysis to evaluate risks, support findings and corroborate reporting for your assigned domain.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Discovery Group in ensuring that reviews are performed, and timely and accurate feedback is obtained.
  • Propose and implement initiatives to improve the risk maturity of the risk management function.

Education and Experience

  • At least 35 years of experience related to IT Audit or IT Risk Management
  • Experience or exposure to IT Consulting or Technology companies (Advantageous)
  • IT regulations and Cyber Security. (Advantageous)
  • BCom Risk Management or Bcom Informatics/BSc in Information Systems or Computer Science or related degree
  • Studying towards obtaining a risk or IT qualification in the next year.
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) (Advantageous)
  • Objective reporting and attention to report Experience in COBIT, ITIL, NIST and Risk Management frameworks.
