Professional Officer

Requirements:

  • Professional Postgraduate Qualification in Urban Design (i.e MUD or
MCPUD), as well as an Undergraduate Qualification in the Built

Environment (preferably B.Tech Architecture, BAS or B.Hon)

recognized by the relevant Professional Accreditation Body;

  • Up to 5 years' relevant experience; and
  • A valid Code B driver's licence
Key Performance Areas

  • Coordinate the design and implementation of capital programmes
and projects;

  • Provide focused urban design inputs to less complex planning and
development initiatives;

  • Facilitate the preparation of urban design frameworks;
  • Facilitate the preparation of citywide urban design strategies
principles, policies and guidelines;

  • Assess and monitor compliance of less complex urban
development proposals to urban design guidelines and policies;

  • Facilitate the participation of relevant stakeholders in the
identification, development and adoption of urban design strategies,

policies, guidelines and capital projects; and

  • Facilitate the implementation of urban design programmes,
processes and systems in order to ensure the role out of the City's

service delivery objectives and the IDP.
