Strategic Insights Manager:

Western Cape:
Permanent Position


The purpose of the job will be to deliver breakthrough strategic insight which enables the creation of compelling Consumer-led Innovation propositions and validate those propositions to the point of execution with relevant teams.


Key Responsible Areas:

  • Design and deliver front end approaches to best answer Consumerled Innovation briefs:
  • Work with Foresights and Insights Lead as well as Growth Platform Leads and agency partners to design and deliver approaches to generating breakthrough consumer insights from which transformational Innovation can be delivered.
  • Development of breakthrough insights which lead to transformational Consumerled Innovation.
  • Generate as an output of the front end process a wellarticulated summary of the insights generated (ideally proprietary), delivering a holistic view to the business of the consumer in this space.
  • Validate where appropriate the insight to maximize opportunity to breakthrough.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with key stakeholders and team members to translate the insight into innovation actions.
  • Lead the validation of the Innovations throughout the process from ideation to execution:
  • Execute the validation of and objectively assess the performance of the propositions through a range of testing including as relevant: Insight screening, Concept screening, design development, CPT, test market / STM.
  • Troubleshoot and make recommendations for improvements to the concepts.
  • Champion the consumer throughout the process whilst having a view on the broader context:
  • Ensure the consumer is front and centre in the decision-making process and act as the voice of the consumer throughout.
  • Ensure other sources of insight (e.g. category) are syndicated and leveraged where relevant in the process
  • Actively assist in embedding consumerled design principles and behaviors within the Innovation Hub team and project members.

Job Requirements:

Education

  • A relevant Bachelors' degree in marketing or consumer studies (or related field).

Experience:

  • Proven experience in consumer insights and marketing.
  • Experience in frontend insight development, innovation idea generation techniques, consumer research methodologies, ethnology, and innovation validation methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to interpret, derive and package actionable
  • Expertise in human
- centered design principles.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with crossfunctional teams.
