PURPOSE
To prepare, set up and operate and maintain different types of Side Printing Machines to the required standards.

2. SCOPE*Perform production tasks
Ensure and verify adequate materials and supplies are available at the right quality to complete operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installing and adjusting printing plates and print rollers Mix Ink and Varnish and control the flow.
  • Ensure that the printing / foiling processes is conducted in a safe manner and wear all safety equipment supplied by the company.
  • Ensure that all raw material i.e. Design layout, print blocks, Ink, lacquer, varnish, foil, and closures are available prior to the commencement of a production run / projected printing programme.
  • Ensure that the shop ticket depicting the Bill of Material (BOM) and the visual standards ie. Customer signed copy together with previous signed closures is available prior to the commencement of a production run / projected printing programme.
  • To continually ensure that what is being printed/foiled conforms to the customers signed copy /specification or a closure signed by the Manager, Printing Team Leader, or New Designs Co-Ordinator.
  • Adjust printing machine speed and temperature as needed.
  • Inspect printed or foiled closures for defect and make necessary adjustments.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents.
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports.
  • Be responsible for housekeeping of the surrounds of his equipment.

Printers must be able to tolerate:

  • Hot department/working conditions.
  • Strong solvent odours.
  • Being Mobile 90% of the time.
  • Must be physically fit and must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure.

5. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Grade 12/ N3 Trade in Printing or equivalent qualification.
  • Advance training in graphic design and working knowledge of technical processes will be an advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret job orders and production schedule.
  • 5+ Years working experience as an operator.
  • Familiarity with different types of printing material.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions quickly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple print jobs simultaneously.
  • Proven experience as a Printing Machine Operator or similar role.
  • Good knowledge of printing processes with experience in a manufacturing/printing industry.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines related to printing equipment operation.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime depending on production schedules.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing highquality printed materials.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Honest, trustworthy, and reliable.

SALARY/PACKAGE:
Total Cost to Company Package.**
