Reporting to the CNC Programmer in the Tooling Department, you will fulfill the necessary requirements within the Department to meet the Company’s objectives.

**KEY JOB FUNCTIONS**:

- Receive and check sizes from Programmer.
- Help Assistant to cut polystyrene block accordingly.
- Clamp work piece to machine table as per Setter
- Programmer discussion
- Determine block zero (XYZ) with prescribed method and place
- Make sure work piece is securely clamped.
- Setup tools using touch probe.
- Make sure tool in spindle and required tool for program correspond.
- Run roughing program as per Programmer instructions.
- Make sure undercut is sufficient with help from sizes received from Programmer.
- Remove foam for “Final
- Prep” work to be done.
- Cut measured boards to give to Assistant.
- Assure the work piece is placed back on machine on the same spot as the roughing spot.
- Ensure correct final program is selected.
- Ensure tool in spindle corresponds with tool in program.
- Run final program with a watchful eye to avoid machine crashes
- Fill gaps with body-filler.
- Rough sand before handing over to Sanding team.
- Smooth any rough edges with a grinder or sand paper.
- Ensure housekeeping activities at the workstations comply and remain at high standards at all times and identify potential health risks.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum: Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Ideal: Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification
- Experience: At least 3 years’ experience on 3/4/5 Axis Machine.
- Minimum: 3 years’ experience in 5-Axis CNC programming.
- Must be able to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine / programming errors.

- Good Communication skills (Verbal & Written).
- Fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking).
- A good perception of 3D space.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong ability to manage teams through operational changes in process, environment and resources.
- Analytical ability to solve problems.
- Be flexible, adaptable, able and willing to modify activities and direction with an ever-changing business environment.
- Experience in wood work CNC components and an interest in recreational boats would be advantageous.
