RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Providing an innovative, dynamic, and collaborative library service to the university stakeholders;
- Assuming overall responsibility for leading and coordinating all Music library physical and virtual research support services for Music Staff, Academics, Students and External users;
- Providing tailored support for research, teaching and learning;
- Managing research queries at a high level of complexity;
- Providing hybrid library instruction and training to staff and students;
- Overseeing the daily management of the facilities and operations;
- Proactively communicating current resources and technologies to users;
- Participating in departmental forums;
- Implementing marketing initiatives such as orientation, exhibitions, promotional events, and other outreach activities;
- Managing circulation processes according to library policies;
- Supervision of staff;
- Participating in strategic projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A four year library degree (e.g. B.Bibl. Degree OR B.Inf (Hons) OR a threeyear B-Degree, plus PG. Diploma in LIS and four years' working experience at an academic library of which two years' experience as a manager/supervisor or coordinator.

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent's level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
