The purpose of this position is to take responsibility for overseeing the academic programs of the Merchants Academy, by developing and implementing the relevant curriculum and accredited modules to support business and the go to market model, ensuring fund grant and the skill development portfolio management

Working at NTT

Academy Performance

  • Ensures accreditation requirements and responsibilities of the academy and its online academic programs, including preparation of accreditation documents, site visits, and responses to accreditors
  • Develops, revises and implements policies, processes, and procedures related to the Academy
  • Oversees marketing campaigns, materials and communication for the Academy
  • Oversees development and maintenance of online staff development portal, rollout of portal to all academic staff and the development of training material to be loaded onto the portal for academic training
  • Endures the rollout plan for the digitization of groups course materials and oversees implementation of plan against timelines
  • Ensures all relevant academy staff are trained for LMS
  • Provide support in the design and continuously improvement of learning programmes and content
  • Analyses trends in order to incorporate best practice and methodologies when advising on instructional design for adult learning interventions.
  • Assess the effectiveness of learning interventions on productivity and performance, corporate the findings in the redesign of the programmes and report on the return on investment of these interventions
  • Analyses the latest and most applicable trends in training and development to be recommended for inclusion in the overall strategy

Financial Management

  • Establishes budgets for the Academy's activities
  • Directs faculty to meet budget and other financial goals to support the strategic business goals
  • Develops and maintains the Academy's financial plans and budget portfolios
  • Ensures that financial targets and plans are communicated
  • Distributes and manages the allocation of budgets to operations with appropriate financial controls
  • Ensures tracking, monitoring and reporting on the Academy financial activities

Operational Management and Development

  • Directs short and long term planning to meet targets and financial budgets
  • Establishes performance goals across all operations
  • Allocates resources (human, technological and financial) assesses and optimizes utilisation
  • Leads and participates in acquisition and growth activities to support overall business objectives and plans
  • Develops, establishes and directs implementation of operating policies and standards in current operations and new business developments
  • Facilitates all crossfunctional team communications and coordination
  • Participates in relevant strategic forums and meetings to remain current with training and risk environments, and ensures a plan to mitigate risk

Stakeholder Management

  • Delivers on stakeholder requests and provides the relevant reporting
  • Ensures change control processes are implemented ad maintained
  • Ensure that all risk and control issues are managed transparently
  • Chairs relevant Programme and Project Steering Committees

People Management
Leadership

  • Leads by example in living the values of the organisation
  • Ensures the department is fully equipped to handle the work load and distribute work flow
  • Coaches to ensure a full understanding of consequences of errors
  • Creates an environment that fosters team work and cooperation amongst team members

  • Ensures consistent compliance to company policies and procedures, corporate governance and relevant legislation
